Trunk Open Indicator Light Stays On (Supersides 93-045, dated October 29, 1993)
SYMPTOM
The trunk open indicator light stays on, even though the trunk lid is completely closed and latched. In vehicles equipped with accessory security systems,
the alarm sounds a few moments after setting the alarm.
PROBABLE CAUSE [NEW]
Faulty switch contact in the trunk latch assembly.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the trunk latch with the part listed under PARTS INFORMATION; then, adjust the trunk latch striker.

Open the trunk lid, and disconnect the latch switch 2-P connector.

Remove the three 6 mm mounting bolts; then, pull down on the trunk latch assembly, and disconnect the cylinder rod. Remove the latch from the
