Brake Fluid Leak
SYMPTOM
The customer complains of finding spots of brake fluid on the ground under the engine compartment. The fluid appears to be leaking from under the
label on the ABS accumulator.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The ABS accumulator internal 0-ring is damaged, allowing brake fluid to leak out.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the accumulator and 0-ring with the kit listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
1.
Relieve the system pressure. Refer to service manual page 19-128 for the proper procedure.
2.
Disconnect the 14P and 2P connectors from the modulator.
3.
Remove the six brake lines from the modulator.
4.
Remove the wire harness clip from the modulator bracket.
5.
Remove the three modulator mounting nuts. Remove the modulator from the car.
