Wind Noise at the Door Mirror
SYMPTOM
A vibrating or fluttering wind noise coming from the door mirror.
PROBABLE CAUSE
A lack of seal pressure between the door glass and the glass run channel allows the window to vibrate or flutter.
DIAGNOSIS
1.
Roll the window all the way up, and apply two-inch-wide masking tape to seal the window as shown.
2.
Test drive the vehicle between 35 and 60 mph to determine if the noise is eliminated. If so, go to CORRECTIVE ACTION.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Apply EPT sealer to the inner section of the glass run channel.
1.
Remove the door panel and glass. Refer to page 20-2 of the service manual.
2.
Pull out and remove the glass run channel (rubber) from the door.
3.
Cut two 5 x 165 mm strips of EPT Sealer 5T.
