Door Locks Cycle from Unlock to Lock
SYMPTOM
When unlocking the driver's door (either manually or with the keyless remote), the doors unlock and then immediately re-lock.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Driver's door latch rod connected to the outside door handle is out of adjustment (too long).
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Adjust the length of the door latch rod.
1.
Expose the door latch linkages by removing the driver's door panel as described in the Service Manual.
2.
Disconnect the rod joint from the outside door handle.
3.
Adjust the joint down until one or two threads of the rod are above the joint, as shown.
4.
Reinstall the rod joint into the attachment point on the outside door handle.
NOTE:
The rod joint should align with the attachment point with minimal rod movement.
5.
Reinstall all remaining parts and check for proper operation.
