The main and rod bearing journal size identification marks on '90-91 Accord crankshafts are marked differently depending on whether the crank was
made in Japan or Ohio.
The japan-produced cranks are marked on the flat spots near each rod journal, just as the service manual shows.
Ohio-produced cranks are marked on the face of the # 1 cylinder counterweight. To view the marks, set # 1 cylinder on TDC. The top row of numbers is
a lot number and has no bearing (bad pun) on journal sizes. The middle row is four letters that represent the rod journal sizes, and the bottom row is five
numbers that represent the main journal sizes. Both rows, from left to right, designate the journals from pulley-end to flywheel-end.
If you have trouble reading these marks (they're laser-etched, not stamped), try spraying them with contact cleaner or some other degreaser. While the
degreaser is wet, the marks should stand out nice and black.
