Included in each kit is the converter that makes the brake light and turn signal circuits on the car and trailer work in harmony. Most trailer lights use a
dual filament bulb - one filament for the brake light and turn signal, and the other filament for the taillight. Hondas, on the other hand, use a dual filament
bulb for the brake light and taillight, and a separate single filament bulb for the turn signal.
The converter (which is about the size of a cigarette pack, and therefore easy to stash in the trunk) changes the brake and turn inputs into the appropriate
signals to the trailer lights.
With the exception of early '90 models, all '88-91 Accords come prewired with a trailer connector. The connector is located in the upper right corner of
the trunk on '88-89 models, in the upper left corner of the trunk on '90-91 Coupes and Sedans, and on the left side of the spare tire well on Wagons.
Carroll Smith supplies matching connectors for some applications. If the connector is not supplied for the car you're wiring, we recommend you make
soldered splices.
