Valve Clearance: Adjustments

Valve Arrangement

NOTE:

-

Valves should be adjusted cold when the cylinder head temperature is less than 100°F (38°C).

After adjusting, retorque the crankshaft pulley bolt to 220 Nm (22.0 kg-m, 159 lb.ft).

1. Remove the cylinder head cover and timing belt upper cover.

Positioning "UP" Mark

2. Set No. 1 piston at TDC. "UP" mark on the pulley should be at top, and TDC grooves on the pulley should align with cylinder head surface.
3. Adjust valves on No. 1 cylinder.

Intake: 0.24-0.28 mm (0.009-0.011 in.)

Exhaust: 0.28-0.32 mm (0.011-0.012 in.)
