Torn Seal on Seat Belt Track 
(Supersedes 91-004, dated March 22, 1991)

PROBLEM

During seat belt operation, the inner seal on the track is torn by contact with the belt latch.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the torn inner seal. Replace the outerseal only if it is torn.

1.

Remove the door opening trim and weatherstrip in the sequence shown.

2.

Pry out the hole plugs and remove the two bolts from both ends of the dash.

3.

Carefully pry the clock out of the dash with a thin-blade screwdriver, then remove the bolt behind it.

4.

Lower the steering wheel all the way.
