Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Rear Strut

Removal

1.

Raise and support rear of vehicle.

2.

Remove damper upper cover at rear seat lining.

3.

Remove damper upper mounting base nuts.

4.

Remove damper lower mounting bolt, then the damper assembly.

5.

Using a suitable spring compressor, compress damper spring enough to remove damper assembly self-locking nut.

6.

Disassemble damper assembly as shown in Fig. 7.

Installation

1.

Mount damper assembly in a spring compressor.
