2. Pry off the selector lever knob cover with the appropriate trim tool. Remove the two screws, and lift the shifter lever knob off the lever.
3. Look at the position of the tabs on the gear position indicator panel. If the tabs are on the front and rear, the vehicle has a type A shift lever; if they're
on the sides, the vehicle has a type B shift lever. For type A, do steps 4, 5, and 6. For type B, do steps 7 and 8.
4. Type A Shift Lever: Pull the A/T gear position indicator panel and base up and off the shift lever.
