Malfunction Lamp / Indicator: Testing and Inspection
SRS Light Goes On/Off/Stays On, No DTCs Stored (NEC SRS Only)
The SRS Indicator Light Comes On for the Bulb Check, Goes Off, then Comes Back On After Self -Diagnosis, but no DTCs are stored
1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about six seconds, and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator light come on?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failure.
3. Check for blown No.1 (15 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - Go to step 12.
NO - Go to step 4.
4. Replace the fuse. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the fuse doesn't blow.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - The problem has disappeared. Test-drive the vehicle and see Troubleshooting Intermittent failures.
NO - Go to step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for three minutes.
7. Disconnect the driver's and front passenger's airbag connectors (A).
