Install a "B" collar over the shift control shaft with the inset facing the torque converter housing. The "B" collar has no grooves. [NEW]
5.
Temporarily install the control lever on the shift control shaft.
6.
Measure the clearance between the collar and the control lever with a feeler gauge.
