Coolant Leakage From the Radiator Drain Plug
SYMPTOM
Coolant leaks from the radiator drain plug when the ambient temperature is below freezing. A small pool of coolant may be visible under the vehicle.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The radiator drain plug O-ring does not provide a sufficient seal in cold temperatures when the radiator and coolant are also at the same cold
temperature.
NOTE:
When the coolant is at operating temperature, this leakage will not occur.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the radiator drain plug/O-ring assembly.
