Wheel Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection

TESTING THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
1. Check pulser for chipped or damaged teeth and replace as necessary.

2. Measure air gap between sensor and pulser all the way around while rotating driveshaft by hand, Fig. 82. If gap exceeds its maximum specification
at any point, the knuckle is most likely distorted and should be replaced. Air gap should be 0.020-0.040 inches.
