Doors Lock When Lifting Handle
SYMPTOM
When you unlock a front door with the key and lift the outside handle, the door lock locks the door before it can be opened. This usually occurs in
temperatures below 30° F.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The anti-theft tube presses against the door lock rod.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
On both front doors, increase the cutout section of the anti-theft tube to allow for more clearance between the tube and the lock rod.
1.
Remove the front door panel, but leave the door lock knob attached. Refer to section 20 of the service manual for door panel removal.
2.
On the latch assembly, locate the black plastic anti-theft tube. The tube is over the door lock rod.
