NOTE:  Do not use more than two thrust shims to adjust the bearing preload.

3. When adjusting the bearing preload with one thrust shim, start with a 2.15 mm (0.085 inch) thrust shim (No. K) from the table below.

NOTE:  Do not use more than one shim to adjust the bearing preload.

4. Install the thrust shims, then install the outer race in the transmission housing using the special tools as shown.

NOTE:

Install the outer race squarely in the transmission housing.

Check that there is no clearance between the outer race, shims and transmission housing.

5. Install the differential assembly in the torque converter housing.
