Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair
Shift Solenoid Valve and Shift Solenoid Harness Replacement
1. Lift the vehicle up on a hoist or apply the parking brake, block rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
2. Remove the splash shield.
3. Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).
4. Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B).
5. Remove the shift solenoid valve cover (A), dowel pins (B), gasket (C), and harness clamp bracket (D).
6. Disconnect the shift solenoid valve connectors.

If replacing shift solenoid valve(s), go to step 7.

If replacing the shift solenoid harness, remove the shift solenoid harness connector (A), and replace it. Install the new O-ring (B) on the new
shift solenoid harness connector, and install it in the transmission housing, then go to step 12.
