Loose Front Speaker Cover

(Supersedes 92-051, dated December 18, 1992)

SYMPTOM

The front speaker cover is loose and sometimes falls off as the door is closed.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The speaker cover does not fit well on the door liner.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Modify the door liner, and install speaker clips to hold the speaker cover (see PARTS INFORMATION).

Ohio production:
Up to VIN 1 HGEG8. . . PL00628O, remove both tabs and install two clips. Above that VIN, remove only the top tab and install one clip.

Japan production:

Remove both tabs and install two clips in all cases.

Gently pull up and out on the bottom of the loose speaker cover, and remove it.

2.

Locate the two raised tabs on the inside of the plastic door liner. This is the area where the existing clips on the speaker cover attach.
