SRS Control Unit: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery negative and positive terminals.

2.

Remove steering wheel maintenance lid, then disconnect cable reel harness and airbag assembly connector. Connect short connector to airbag
assembly.

3.

Pull down carpeting from both sides of front console and remove harness protector.

4.

Disconnect SRS control unit connector.

5.

Remove four SRS control unit mounting bolts, then control unit from vehicle.

6.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque control unit mounting bolts to 7.2 Ft. Lbs.
b. Confirm proper system by turning ignition switch on and observing instrument panel SRS indicator light. It should come on for approximately

six seconds, then turn off.
