Installation

Aluminum Oil Pan
1. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces and bolt holes.

2. Apply liquid gasket, part No.08718-0001 or 08718-0003, evenly to the oil pan mating surface of the block and to the inner threads of the bolt

holes.

NOTE:

Apply a 4 mm wide bead of liquid gasket.

Apply a second bead where the two ends of the first bead meet.

Do not install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing old
residue.

3. Install the oil pan.

4. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps. In the final step, tighten all bolts, in sequence to 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-cm, 8.7 ft. lbs.).
5. After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.

Steel Oil Pan
1. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces and bolt holes.
