Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection

    9 volts or more should be present between black (+) terminal and light green ( - ) terminal of the valve leads while solenoid valve is being activated. 

1.

Open control box cover, then disconnect control box wire harness.

2.

Disconnect upper vacuum hose to idle control solenoid valve at the 3-way connector.

3.

Apply vacuum to hose using a suitable hand vacuum pump. Valve should hold vacuum.

4.

Connect battery positive terminal to black terminal of control box and negative battery terminal to the light green terminal.

5.

Apply vacuum to hose using a suitable hand vacuum pump. Valve should not hold vacuum.
