Loosen the locknut, then pull the throttle cable out of its bracket.
NOTE:
Accord type shown; on Civic, the nut on the outside is the locknut.

Remove the carburetor nuts (4) and on Accords, remove the washers (8).

On Civics, remove the bolt that secures the steel tubing vacuum manifold, then disconnect remaining lines and hoses as necessary, and remove the
carburetor. On Accords, lift the carburetor clear of its studs, then lift it backwards.

Remove the throttle controller bracket screw.
NOTE:
Accord type shown; Civic is similar.
7.
Remove the throttle controller bracket and the mixture screw cap from the carburetor. Then, turn the mixture screw 1/2-turn clockwise.
NOTES:

The end result should be no less than 1 full turn from the seated position.
8.
Reinstall the throttle controller bracket (2 bolts and 1 screw underneath the carburetor).
9.
Push the mixture screw cap back into the carburetor, then reinstall the carburetor.
Tighten the carburetor nuts:
Civic 25 lb. ft.; Accord 20 lb. ft.
10.
Insert the throttle cable into its bracket and tighten its locknut.
11.
Reconnect all lines and hoses to the carburetor.
