REAR AXLE BEAM/STABILIZER ASSEMBLY

1.

Remove the stabilizer control arm shown below (you can get to it without removing other parts).

2.

Retest the car with the stabilizer control arm off:

-

If the noise is still there, follow normal diagnostic procedures to find the cause.

If the noise is gone, go on to the next step and replace the stabilizer with one of the improved assemblies listed
under PARTS INFORMATION.

3.

Replace the stabilizer as described in the Civic Service Manual (page 20-23 in the '84 FIRST EDITION, page 20-26 in
all others).

NOTE:

In step 6 of the Service Manual procedure, use a length of 2" x 2" lumber to tap the stabilizer out of the axle
beam, as shown in the drawing above step 5).
