Actuator Cable: Adjustments
1. Check that the actuator cable operates smoothly with no binding or sticking.
2. Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with no load (A/T in [N] or [P], M/T in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
3. Measure the amount of movement of the actuator rod until the cable pulls on the accelerator lever (engine speed starts to increase). Free play
should be 11 ± 1.0 mm (0.43 ± 0.04 in.).
4. If free play is not within specs, loosen the locknut, and turn the adjusting nut as required.
NOTE: If necessary, check the throttle cable free play, then recheck the actuator rod free play.
5. Retighten the locknut, and recheck the free play.
