Horn Switch: Testing and Inspection

CAUTION: All SRS wire harnesses are covered with yellow insulation. Before you disconnect any part of an SRS wire harness, connect the short
connectors. Whenever the ignition switch ON (II), or has been turned OFF for less than three minutes, be careful not to bump the SRS unit, the airbags
could accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries.

NOTE: The original radio has a coded theft protection circuit. Be sure to get the customer's code number before,

disconnecting the battery.

removing the No.32 (7.5 A) fuse from the under hood fuse/relay box.

removing the radio.

After service, reconnect power to the radio and turn it on. When the word "CODE" is displayed, enter the customer's 5~digit code to restore radio
operation.

1. Disconnect both the negative cable and positive cable from the banery, and wait at least three minutes.
2. Make sure the wheels are turned straight ahead.
3. Remove the access panel below the driver's airbag, then remove the short connector (RED) from the panel. 
4. Disconnect the 3-P connector between the driver's 'airbag and cable reel, then connect the short connector (RED) on the airbag side of the

connector.

5. Remove the glove box and access panel.

6. Disconnect the 3-P connector between the front passenger's airbag and the SRS main harness, then connect the short connector (RED) on the

airbag side of the connector.

7. Remove the dashboard lower cover and knee bolster.
