Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect master cylinder from booster and position aside. It is not necessary to disconnect brake lines, but care should be taken to avoid
twisting or kinking them.
3.
Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose at booster.
4.
Working under instrument panel, disconnect brake pedal from brake booster.
5.
Remove booster attaching nuts and booster from vehicle.
6.
Reverse procedure to install.
POWER BOOSTER OVERHAUL
On 1990-92 Accord and 1992 Civic and Prelude models, the brake booster cannot be overhauled and must be replaced as an assembly.
