Intake Air Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor And Specification Chart

    The Intake Air Temperature (TA) Sensor, located on the rear of the throttle body, is a temperature sensitive resistor (thermistor).  The resistance of
the thermistor decreases as the air intake temperature increases.  This signal is used by the ECU to determine intake air density (oxygen content) for
mixture control.
