Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

The Purge Cut-off Solenoid Valve, mounted on the right side of the firewall, is used to control vacuum to the EVAP purge control valve. When the
coolant temperature is above 75° C (167° F), the Purge Cut-off Solenoid Valve (controlled by the ECU) directs manifold vacuum to the Purge control
valve. When the coolant temperature is below 75° C (167° F), the Purge Cut-off Solenoid Valve blocks manifold vacuum from the purge control valve.
This allows canister purging by allowing fresh air through the canister and into a port on the throttle body at the appropriate time.
