Heater Fan Switch: Testing and Inspection

    This signal is used on CRX HF models only, and informs the ECU when the heater fan switch is in the On position.

1.

Connect system checker harness between ECU and wire harness connector, then turn ignition switch On.

Measure voltage between terminals B7 (+) and A18 (-). Voltage reading should be approximately 5 volts.

If voltage reading is as specified in previous step, proceed to step 4. If reading is not as specified, proceed as follows:

a.  Disconnect ``B'' connector from main wire harness only, not from ECU, then check voltage.
b. If 5 volts is present, repair short in green wire between ECU (B7) and heater fan switch. If 5 volts is not present, substitute a good ECU and

recheck voltage. If voltage is now as specified, replace ECU.

Turn heater switch On and measure voltage between terminals B7 (+) and A18 (-). If voltage is below 1 volt, heater fan switch signal is
satisfactory. If voltage is not below 1 volt, repair open in green wire between ECU (B7) and fan switch.
