Noise From the Rear Shelf

SYMPTOM

A noise can be heard from the rear shelf or speaker area when driving on rough roads.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The rear speaker(s) are vibrating on the body under the rear shelf.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Install a flange nut onto each of the eight speaker mounting screws.

DIAGNOSIS

Drive the vehicle on a rough surface. Have an assistant apply pressure to the rear shelf.

If the noise disappears, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

If the noise does not disappear, continue with normal troubleshooting.
