Rear Seat-Back Lock Is Hard to Turn

SYMPTOM

The rear seat-back lock is hard to turn, or it won't turn at all.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The left lock rod is too long.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the lock rod.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Open the trunk.

2.

Pull the left rear seat handle to release the seatback.

3.

Rotate the lock rod clip; remove and discard the lock rod.

4.

Install the new lock rod listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

5.

Reinstall the lock rod clip.

6.

Lock and unlock the seat-back 3 or 4 times to make sure the lock works well.
