Intermediate Shaft

Intermediate Shaft Service

Remove intermediate shaft outer seal, then the 40mm external clip, Fig. 3.

2.

Press intermediate shaft out of shaft bearing, then remove shaft inner seal.

Remove the 68mm internal circlip, then press intermediate shaft bearing out of bearing support.

Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Install circlips with tapered end facing out.
b. Install intermediate shaft ring and bearing support ring on intermediate shaft. On Civic 4WD wagon, position as shown in Fig. 4 using a

hammer.
