Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Drain engine oil into suitable container.

2.

Remove timing belt. Refer to ``Cam Drive Sprocket & Timing Belt, Replace'' procedure.

3.

Remove timing belt tensioner and timing belt driving gear.

4.

Remove oil pan and oil pump pickup screen.

5.

Remove oil pump attaching bolts, then the oil pump, Fig. 34.

6.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque oil pump and screen attaching bolts to 9 ft. lbs. and oil pump screen attaching nuts to 18 ft. lbs.
