Rear Quarter Window Noise
(Supersedes 88-039, Wind Noise from the Rear Quarter Glass, dated March 8, 1991)

SYMPTOMS

^

Wind noise from the rear corner of the window.

^

A water leak from the rear door.

^

The window rattles when the rear door is closed.

^

The window can be moved easily.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Improper fit of the rear quarter window glass.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

1.

Remove the quarter glass from the door.

2.

Trim and attach a piece of 10 mm wide EPT 10T sealer to the door frame. Apply the Sealer from the top of the glass, around the back, and across
the bottom as shown.

3.

Attach a 10 mm wide piece of EPT 5T Sealer to the center channel as shown.

4.

As you reinstall the quarter window, make sure the EPT forms a tight seal all around the glass.
