Parking Pin Switch: Testing and Inspection
WARNING: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedure before performing
repairs or service.
1. Remove the instrument panel lower cover.
2. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
3. Disconnect the parking pin switch connector.
4. Shift the shift lever into the [P] position, then check for continuity between the No. 1 terminal and the No. 2 terminal. There should be continuity.
5. Shift the shift lever out of the [P] position, and check for continuity between the terminals as in step 4. There should be no continuity.
6. If the parking pin switch is faulty, replace it.
