Wind Whistle From Top of Windshield

SYMPTOM
A whistle or howl from the upper middle portion of the windshield when driving at highway speeds.

PROBABLE CAUSE
The windshield molding is vibrating.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Apply sealant underneath the window molding along the top of the windshield.

DIAGNOSIS
Drive the vehicle at highway speeds while an assistant presses on the windshield near the rear view mirror. If the frequency or volume of the noise
changes when the windshield is pressed, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Apply a 2-inch-wide strip of masking tape across the top of the windshield, just behind the edge of the windshield molding.
