01-101
December 18, 2001
Applies To: 1998-01 CR-V - ALL with Manual Transmission
Selecting Gears Is Difficult at Times
SYMPTOM
Intermittently, selecting any gear with the clutch pedal fully depressed is difficult. This condition may be worse during frequent usage, such as in
stop-and-go traffic.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The driver may be resting his or her foot on the clutch pedal, preventing the fluid from returning to the clutch master cylinder reservoir. This prevents the
clutch from disengaging or engaging properly.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the clutch pedal, the clutch master cylinder, and the clutch lines with improved parts.
