Vacuum Switch: Testing and Inspection
Vacuum Switches

    Disconnect vacuum hose to vacuum switch and connect vacuum pump to hose, then apply vacuum and check for voltage at vacuum switch.

1.

For vacuum switch A, with vacuum of less than 1.2 inches Hg applied, voltage should be available at blue/black wire of emissions box No. 2 on
hatchback and sedan models with manual transmission, or at black/orange wire on other models.

For vacuum switch B, with vacuum of more than 9.8 inches Hg applied, voltage should be available at brown/white wire of emissions box No. 1.

3.

For vacuum switch C, with vacuum of more than 12 inches Hg applied, voltage should be available at red wire of emissions box No. 1.
