Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

    Do not adjust throttle valve stop screw since it is preset at the factory.

Disconnect sensor electrical connector, then measure resistance between yellow and green wire terminals on 1985 Accord, yellow/white and
green/white wire terminals on 1986 Accord and 1986-87 Prelude or brown/black and yellow/red wire terminals on Civic and CRX at the sensor.

Resistance with throttle closed should be 3200-7200 ohms on Civic, CRX and 1985 Accord, or 4000-6000 ohms on 1986 Accord and 1986-87
Prelude.

If resistance is not as specified, adjust installation position of sensor and retest. If sensor cannot be adjusted to obtain specified closed throttle
resistance, sensor is defective.
