1984-87 CIVIC & CRX

1.

Loosen rack guide screw locknut with suitable tool, Fig. 8.

2.

Torque guide screw to 3 ft. lbs on all except Civic with variable ratio manual steering or 4 ft. lbs. on 1986-87 Civic with variable ratio manual
steering.

3.

Loosen guide screw as follows:

a. On all except 1986-87 Civic with manual steering, back guide screw off approximately 1/10 turn (35°).
b. On 1986-87 Civic with constant ratio manual steering back guide screw off approximately 1/12 turn (25°).
c. On 1986-87 Civic with variable ratio manual steering, back screw off approximately 15°.

Hold position of adjusting screw and torque locknut to 60 ft. lbs. on 1986-87 Civic with variable ratio manual steering, or 18 ft. lbs. on all other
models.
