CORRECTIVE ACTION:

1.

Remove the transmission as described in the appropriate Service Manual.

2.

Remove the release bearing as described in the service manual.

3.

Check the transmission mainshaft end-play using mainshaft inspection tools. Refer to Service Bulletin 89-008 "Mainshaft Inspection Tools," dated
February 17, 1989.

4.

Replace the clutch friction disc as described in the Service Manual.

5.

Reinstall the release bearing and install the transmission as described in the Service Manual.
