Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Fig. 8 Condenser mounting.

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Discharge refrigerant from A/C system.

3.

Remove front bumper.

4.

Disconnect aluminum receiver line from copper receiver line and the sight glass.

5.

Remove right upper condenser mount bolt, then receiver line bracket.

6.

Disconnect discharge hose from condenser, Fig. 8, then plug hose and open condenser fitting.

7.

Remove discharge hose clamp, then disconnect receiver hose and plug hose and open condenser fitting.

8.

Disconnect wire harness from condenser fan motor.

9.

Remove condenser attaching bolts, then condenser. It may be necessary to remove condenser fan shroud to gain access for condenser
removal.
