CMP Pulse Plate Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Remove the air cleaner housing bracket, ground cable and harness clamps, then remove the harness holder from the bracket.
3. Remove the cylinder head cover.
4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector, then remove the CMP sensor.
5. Remove the camshaft thrust cover.

6. Hold the camshaft with a 27 mm open-end wrench.

7. Remove the CMP pulse plate mounting bolt (A) and CMP pulse plate (B) from the camshaft.
