Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Rear

Removal

Ensure dirt or other foreign matter is not allowed to contaminate brake fluid. Do not mix different types of brake fluid, as they might not be
compatible.

1. Refer to Fig. 9 when replacing rear calipers.
2. Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assemblies.
3. Remove caliper shield, then disconnect parking brake cable from caliper lever by removing lockpin.
4. Remove banjo bolt and disconnect brake hose from caliper.
5. Remove two caliper mounting bolts, then caliper.

Installation

1. Install caliper and caliper bolts.
2. Connect brake hose to caliper and install banjo bolt.
3. Connect parking brake cable to caliper arm.
4. Fill brake reservoir and bleed rear brakes.
5. Operate brake pedal several times, then adjust parking brake lever. Before adjustments, ensure parking brake arm on caliper touches pin.
6. Install caliper shield, then the wheel and tire assemblies.
