*Torque Converter:

P/N 26000-PEA-31 5, H/C 6101547*

DIAGNOSIS

1.

Connect a PGM Tester to the 16P DLC (Data Link Connector) located behind the right side of the center console.

2.

Select the Honda test mode.

3.

Select "Transmission" from the menu, then select "Freeze Data."

4.

Read and record the TPS value.

If the value is equal to or greater than 1.15V (230 %, 13°), go to REPAIR PROCEDURE A.

If the value is less than 1.15V (23 %, 13°), go to REPAIR PROCEDURE B.

REPAIR PROCEDURE A

1.

Remove the right door sill molding, then pull the passenger's floor carpet back to expose the PCM cover.

2.

Remove the PCM cover mounting nuts, then remove the cover.

3.

Remove the three PCM mounting bolts, disconnect the four harness connectors, and remove the PCM.

4.

Install the new PCM in the reverse order of removal.

5.

Gather the following items:

All master keys and valet keys for the vehicle

^

PGM Tester with software version SN 802 or later (on a 4 MB program card)

NOTE: Make sure the Tester's date and destination (country) settings are correct before you use it.

Password code for the program card (If you don't know the code, ask your service manager for it, or find it on the HONDANET 2000 VIN
Status Inquiry display.)

Immobilizer PCM code (This VIN-specific, 4-digit code is available on the HONDANET 2000 VIN Status Inquiry display. The code is
changed daily, so use it the same day you get it.)

6.

Reconnect the PGM Tester.

7.

Use the first key to turn the ignition switch ON (II).

8.

Go into the Test Mode Menu on the Tester.

9.

Select "Immobi "from the System Select menu.

10.

Select "Replace ECM/PCM" from the Test Mode Menu.
