Measure and mark the resonator chamber.

Drill a 6 mm hole at each marked location. Use a small tile to deburr the holes.
6.
Reinstall the inner fender liner.
7.
Lower the vehicle.
8.
Center-punch a completion mark above the second character (H) of the engine compartment VIN.

Safety Recall: Odyssey Resonator Chamber
Dear Honda Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
What is the reason for this notice?
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1999 Odyssey vehicles. The resonator is part of
the vehicle's air intake system and is located under the air cleaner. In extremely cold, wet weather, water can become trapped in the resonator, and
water vapor may be drawn into the throttle body. This condition may cause ice to form on the throttle shaft during freezing temperatures, which may
cause the throttle to stick in an open position. Although the driver could apply additional brake force, or take other actions (e.g., shift into neutral,
turn off the ignition key, etc.), if the vehicle continues to maintain speed when the driver is expecting the vehicle to slow, a crash could occur.
What should you do?
Call any authorized Honda automobile dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. The dealer will drill two additional drain holes
in the bottom of the resonator. This repair will be done free of charge. Although the repair takes less than an hour, please plan to leave your vehicle
for half a day to allow the dealer flexibility in scheduling.
