SRS Indicator On With DTC 7-3

SYMPTOM

The SRS indicator is on, and DTC 7-3 (internal failure of SRS unit) is stored.

PROBABLE CAUSE

An internal failure of the SRS control unit.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the SRS control unit.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system (if equipped). Write down the customer's radio presets.

2.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes before continuing.

3.

Disconnect the airbag connectors and the seat belt tensioner connectors (see page 23-26 in the service manual).

4.

Remove the center lower pocket (see page 20-66 in the service manual).
