Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
3. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.

4. Remove EGR valve attaching bolts, then the EGR valve, Fig. 1.
5. Remove throttle valve attaching bolts, then the throttle valve and gasket.
6. Remove common chamber attaching bolts, then the common chamber and gasket.
7. Remove water temperature sensor and from intake manifold.
8. Remove air regulator from bottom of manifold.
9. Remove thermal valve, water outlet pipe, thermostat and gasket from intake manifold.

10. Remove fuel injectors and pipe as an assembly.
11. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the manifold and gasket.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
13. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
