Parking Brake Warning Switch: Description and Operation

The brake warning light comes ON to alert the driver that the parking brake is applied, or that the pressure differential brake switch is closed. It also
comes ON as a bulb test when the engine is cranked.

Parking Brake Switch
With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied to fuse 7 and to the brake warning light. When the parking brake is applied,
the parking brake switch closes, providing a ground for the light. The brake warning light then comes ON to remind the driver that the parking
brake is applied.
