Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
Component Test

INSPECTION

1. Check Resistance.

Disconnect Fuel Injector Harnesses at the Connector and measure the resistance across the Terminals.

Standard Resistance:  13.8 ohms. 

If measured resistance deviates from specified range, replace Injector.

2. Check Operation.

With the Engine running, check Fuel Injector operating noise using a metal bar or a stethoscope.

Normal operation of Injector is indicated when regular click is heard which varies with Engine speed.

If a regular click is not heard, the Injector is malfunctioning and must be replaced.

3. Check for Leakage.

a. Remove the Fuel Rail Assembly.
b. Remove all the Injectors with the Fuel Hoses connected.
